FMW is Changing.
For the Better!

With the release of Version 8.00. With special pricing, you can ensure you are up to date with your current software and take advantage of the latest enhancements.

FMW is now Citywide Budgeting.

It is an exciting new year for clients of FMW. First off, FMW is changing its name to Citywide Budgeting and will be a part of a new and enhanced software solution offering both an on-premise and cloud-based version for clients. If you are currently an on-premise FMW client, nothing will change with the new name. However, there are some new updates coming with Version 8.0 you should be prepared for. To help you get ready for the enhancements being rolled out with your on-premise Citywide Budgeting (formerly FMW), we have outlined some of them below as well as developed some special pricing and upgrade plans to make things easy for you to get the most out of your solution.

What is New in Version 8?

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the Budget Software experience, we are pleased to announce that Citywide Budgeting version 8.0.0 will be released during the week of May 5, 2025.

Apache Tomcat Upgrade

The on-premise version of Citywide Budgeting (Formerly FMW) will be certified to work with the latest release of Tomcat 9 focusing on application security and avoiding vulnerabilities. As such, clients should update to this latest version.

Java Web Start

A Java Web Start solution for the on-premise version of Citywide Budgeting (Formerly FMW), means that client machines will no longer need Java installation to launch the system.

OpenJDK 21

The on-premise version of Citywide Budgeting (Formerly FMW) will be upgraded in Version 8.00 to be compatible with OpenJDK 21 running under Apache Tomcat Server. Upgrading eliminates the need for purchasing server licenses.

Get API

The API will allow users to send GET HTTP requests to the app and retrieve resource representation/information from its different modules while respecting existing roles and permissions. Clients can use this data to interact with their third-party dashboards or other visualization tools for analysis. There will be a limitation on the datasets that clients can retrieve from this release. However, we plan to offer customized datasets based on each client's needs.

Enhancements & Bug Fixes

We are actively working on a comprehensive set of enhancements for this upcoming release, encompassing new functionalities, improved navigation, and bug fixes. Our dedicated team is currently in the design and development phase, compiling an upgrade that prioritizes expanding reporting outputs. Additionally, we are enhancing the functionality of the Model Administration and Salary Plan modules.
